Pods CMS developer for Hire
In the span of about 4 months of working with the Pods CMS plugin for wordpress, my productivity has increased immensely.
The majority of websites that I work on are for small business, so Pods CMS is perfect for them. However the next rung on the ladder seems to require much more functionality than the standard brochure and form type of website. Usually us developers will choose a CMS that is more feature packed, but generally much more complicated, and costly to the client. There are good reasons for this, but the main reason has been that wordpress is not ideal for websites that have more functionality.
In the past wordpress could only do more complex tasks, by creating plugins for everything, or having a theme with a manaagement interface that was quite difficult for the client, due to no easy interface on the back end.
When I first tried the Pods CMS, I instantly saw the potential, and then quite quickly ran in to problems trying to make the darn thing work the way my imagination wanted it to. So there was a bit of a learning curve, but once you figure out the way that pods works best with your wordpress skills, development becomes very fast.
The time saving benefits of Pods CMS are excellent. A complex site can be up and running in a few days, and in many cases you don’t need to know too much PHP to get away with creating sites.

WordPress Plugin for tracking if users are logged in to Social media
I recently found a cool post on SEOmoz about tracking if your site visitors are logged in to any of the social media sites (original article here), I could definitely find that useful, so I decided to turn it in to a wordpress plugin.
The method taps in to google analytics for tracking, so you need to have that already set up on your site first. The methods outlined will track Facebook, twitter , google and google plus. I also wanted to add pinterest to this list.
Since I have started using Piwik on some of my sites, I may also introduce a way to track using piwick instead of google analytics.
I will be coming back in a few days… once it has been completed to post a download link for the wordpress plugin. Unfortunately it will not be put on the wordpress repository as I think at least one of these methods will change in the near future. If you want to get a plugin right now , one has already been made … do a search on the link below for the word plugin.
